Hello everyone!

You probably don't get many intro posts like this but seeing as nobody has yet cast this shadow I feel I must let everybody know.
I am a rabid new Tale of Two Cities fangirl by way of the new Broadway musical. I have seen it twice in the week and am a quarter of the way through the book because this show, despite what the critics and theatre snobs say, is the best thing I've ever seen. That being said, it has just been announced that it will close next Sunday. So all my peeps on this comm in the New York area who haven't seen it GET THERE! James Barbour as Sydney carries this show on his back.

That being said, (and in an effort to control my rage and anguish at this news) I'd just like to say hey and introduce myself to everybody. My name's Liv and I'm in the early stages of Dickens whoritude. I'm an English major and creative writer. I worship Sydney Carton and Nicholas Nickleby and i'm looking for some people to fangirl with. I'm curious about the 1980 ATOTC movie with Chris Sarrandon. Has anyone here seen it?

I know this is quite some time since you posted, but I'm a Sydney Carton lover myself (looking for icons of him, actually!), and I saw the movie you mention a long time ago. I don't remember much about it, but for some reason I wasn't terribly impressed. Oddly, the one thing I can remember thinking is that Darnay had lips like a frog. :-) Both the Ronald Colman version and the Dirk Bogarde version are better.
